But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. . He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. (John 16:12-14) The apostles of the New Testament wrote the very thoughts of Christ. If this is all true, then it says something very important as to how we approach the Bible. These are not the fallible thoughts of sinful men about God. Rather they are the infallible thoughts of God revealed to sinful men so we can know all we need to know about God, his salvation, and the future of the world.

It is humbling when we realize that those sinful thoughts we thought were secret do not go unnoticed by God. As we are humbled by that, may we also therefore be challenged to “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). Knowing there is a God who knows all our sinful thoughts is also gratifying, because he still loves us. There are few things more gratifying than being known completely, warts and all, and still being loved. The Christian who is covered by the blood of Christ need not fear being fully known.

They devoted their lives to it. Imagine how impressed they must have been with Daniel’s ability to reveal Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. I think these men were ready to sit at his feet and learn. Where do you think Daniel would have directed these men to find the revelation of the mysteries of life? He would have turned them to the Scriptures that were written by the Revealer of Mysteries. I am sure he had them pore over the ancient prophecies. We know that he had the scroll of Jeremiah (Daniel 9:2). He probably showed them how the Revealer of Mysteries had predicted the Babylonian captivity.
